We were honoured to have Mr Erik Joly as our guest speaker on the 9th November 2022. Mr. Joly is Chief Economist of ABN, AMRO , Belgium and he gave a very interesting presentation on “Marco Economic outlook:
How to invest in challenging times? to members and guests of the BLCC in Ireland.
It was fascinating to get an overall view of the worldwide markets and not just the EU. China and America have such an impact on economies, that it was interesting to see the comparisons and different approaches to domestic influences and the way they affect the world market.
Investment is difficult under the present climate, the war in Ukraine, the environmental issues on energy, uncertainty in the tech world, overestimated growth in various sectors but as always there are opportunities but proceed with caution and think more long term.
Everyone enjoyed canapés and refreshments after the presentation which lent to much discussion among those present.
