Another great event was enjoyed by members and their family and friends at our annual barbeque on the 20th July 2019. It was an honour to have Ambassador De Bauw and his delightful wife Joelle join us on the day. The weather stayed nice and dry and the temperature was perfect for everyone to enjoy. The young ones had fun in the bouncy castle while the adults indulged in wonderful streaks and lamp chops cooked by our head chef David McNerney and his comme chef Allan Bernstein. The bar was expertly manned by Joel Durand and Jacques de Patoul which kept the wine, soft drinks and Belgian beer flowing. The desserts which are supplied by those attending has started to become the highlight of the barbeque such are the delicious and mouth-watering home bakes on display. Michele McNerney has to take a bow for her roulades and flap jacks while Colette Sheridan gets the trophy every year for her frangipane. A big Thank You to Anny Verwijs for always putting her premises at Kilcroney Furniture at the disposal of the Chamber. The barbeque is an communal effort and it’s the people involved who always make it such a success and the most enjoyable social event on our calendar.
